The greening of Brazil/WorldGBC

There's more than the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics convening in Brazil: the World Green Building Council Congress and Greenbuilding Brazil happened in August in Sao Paulo and I reported on it (alas, from my home office in Chicago).

With five LEED-certified stadia sprinkled around the country – including the Maracana Stadium in Rio, the largest soccer (football) venue in South America (pictured) – the country is well on its way to making the Summer Games two years from now among the greenest ever seen.
